Doug Sayed, SPHR, CCP, StrategicPay® Series developer, author, product manager, and overall series editor
Doug Sayed is founder and principal of Applied HR Strategies, Inc. a Seattle-area compensation consulting firm and the developer of the StrategicPay® Series.  Doug is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and has also earned Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.  Early in his HR/compensation career, Doug earned a Master's Degree in Human Resource Management from Ohio State University, and now has over 25 years of experience in the field.  He is also an instructor and occasionally-published author with WorldatWork, the leading association for compensation professionals in North America.

Prior to the development of the StrategicPay® Series, he was the developer and publisher of the leading northwest regional salary surveys covering the technology and biotechnology sectors (now part of the Culpepper and Associates family of surveys).

 

Jill Odegard, PHR, CCP, Base Pay Toolkit co-author and  co-product manager
Jill is Vice President and Sr. Consultant with Applied HR Strategies, and co-product manager for the StrategicPay® Series.  She has worked in the Human Resources field for over 10 years in various HR management capacities, and specializes in compensation and benefits.  She earned her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation as well as the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification via WorldatWork.  Jill graduated from Central Washington University with a BS in Business and a minor in Human Resources. Jill is an expert in the development of base pay compensation programs.

 

Karen Cummings, PhD, PHR, CCP, StrategicPay® Series Base Pay Toolkit co-author and editor
Since earning her MS at Michigan State University and her PhD at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Karen has contributed over 18 years to the discipline of human resources management through serving on the faculty at Michigan State University and through holding compensation management practitioner roles with companies such as Sears, Roebuck & Co. and Starbucks Corporation.  Karen has expertise in building base pay programs, performance management systems, pay communications and training programs, and modeling and administering incentive plan designs.

 

Peter Scontrino, Ph.D., StrategicPay® Series Performance Management Toolkit Author
Peter is a graduate of Seattle University and Michigan State University and holds a Ph.D. degree in industrial-organizational (I/O) psychology.  He is a licensed psychologist in the State of Washington.  He served on the faculties of the University of Washington and Seattle University prior to forming Scontrino-Powell in 1975.  He is a widely-recognized expert in the application of the principles of I/O psychology to people and organizations.  Dr. Scontrino has assisted his clients in projects ranging in scope from organization development to employee selection and performance management systems, to productivity incentive plans to employee involvement systems to management development programs to organization-wide change efforts.  He has published a number of articles, written a chapter on employee involvement, and has previously co-authored a text on performance management and appraisal.

 

Randy Maharaj - StrategicPay® Series Incentive Compensation Toolkit Author
Randy Maharaj is a seasoned Human Resources leader specializing in compensation, benefits and human resource information systems (HRIS).  He has a deep understanding in the design, development and delivery of compensation and benefits programs with an appreciation of total employee rewards in both US and global markets.  His effective systemic thinking, processes, and analytical skills coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the employee life-cycle, have been instrumental in driving innovative processes to assist organizations in evolving their reward practices.  Maharaj brings over 10 years of experience in the Human Resource field and has worked in senior roles at Coca-Cola, AT&T, Amazon.com and most recently at Washington Mutual Corporation.  Prior to working in Human Resources, he worked in a variety of business strategy and sales roles at BP (British Petroleum). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Durban-Westville - South Africa.

 

Karen Crandall, CCP - author, StrategicPay® Series Long-term Incentives Toolkit
Karen Crandall is a seasoned compensation leader specializing in long-term incentive design, executive compensation and broad-based compensation plans and programs.  She has significant experience in managing executive and broad-based compensation programs, especially in publicly-traded organizations, including the design and administration of long-term incentive programs, non-qualified executive retirement programs, perquisites and cash compensation programs.  Ms. Crandall has held management roles at Cellular One, AT&T Wireless, and Washington Mutual Corporation.  She maintains the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation from WorldatWork and is pursuing her Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation from Santa Clara University.  She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from California State University, San Francisco.

 

Vyshali Mokadam, StrategicPay® Series Executive Compensation Toolkit, Lead Author
Vyshali Mokadam, principal at Vyshali Mokadam Associates, is a seasoned Human Resources professional with extensive experience in compensation and rewards.  She has expertise in compensation, benefits, human resource systems and project management.  Her design, development and implementation of various HR initiatives has allowed alignment with key business strategies while maintaining employee engagement.  Vyshali brings 20 years of Rewards experience, most recently in leadership roles at T-Mobile USA and American Express Company.  Vyshali received an MBA from NYU-Stern School of Business and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College
